FamilyQ ("we", "us", or "our") operates the FamilyQ mobile application and web service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
We do not sell your personal data. Your family data (including location when enabled) is shared only with members of your family group. We use Supabase for secure data storage, Twilio for SMS verification, and Expo/Firebase for push notifications — solely to operate the service.
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at the address below.
FamilyQ is a family management app rated 9+ on the App Store and Google Play. While children may use the app as part of a family group, only adults may create an account. Account creation requires a phone number and SMS verification, which serves as the mechanism ensuring an adult is the account holder.
Children are added to a family group exclusively by the adult account holder (the parent or guardian), who by doing so provides consent on the child's behalf for any data associated with that child's participation in the family group. Parents control all family membership and can remove any member at any time.
All data collection beyond basic account setup is opt-in only — for example, location sharing must be explicitly enabled by each user and can be turned off at any time. No data is collected automatically from child users.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 outside of this parental-consent framework. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data without parental consent, please contact us at jasperdrake456@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.
Location sharing is entirely opt-in. When enabled, your approximate GPS coordinates are stored and visible only to your family group members. You can disable location sharing at any time from your Profile screen. We do not share location data with any third parties.
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), phone number verification via one-time codes, and secure cloud database storage to protect your data.
You may access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. If you are located in the EU/EEA, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or SMS.
